1. Create a SportsEngine Account if you don’t already have one.  This program is used by many different youth sports organizations so you might have a profile already, but if not  CLICK HERE.

2. Link your profile to West Fargo Hockey if you aren’t already. By associating yourself with WFHA, this allows us to find you in the SportsEngine system to communicate with you, roster you to the team, etc. To do this,  CLICK HERE.

USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program require both certification and registration to be eligible to coach. Registration is done online on a yearly basis. Certification is also required. A few basic steps requirements are as follows:

USA Hockey Requirements (Must be completed before participating in any team activities)

1. OBTAIN A USA HOCKEY COACH MEMBERSHIP
   This is where you register as a member of USA Hockey. (Cost is $46 plus any affiliate fees if applicable). Click here for more information.
2. REGISTER YOUR USA HOCKEY NUMBER WITH WFHA
   This helps us track your background check, CEP, background check, and modules.  This also helps us attach you to a team within the USA Hockey database when it comes time to roster your team.  Click here to register your information with WFHA. 
3. BACKGROUND CHECK SUBMISSION
   Complete and pass the background screening.  The screening is good for 2 years, so if you completed it last year, you do not need to complete it this season. You must submit a screening thru this process and cannot use any other background checks with other providers.  Click here.
4. SAFESPORT TRAINING OR REFRESHER
   Complete the USA Hockey Safe Sport Training your first year and complete a refresher annually.  You cannot coach/supervise players in any capacity until this is complete.  Click here for more information.
5. USA HOCKEY LEVEL/AGE MODULE
   Complete the online age-specific module(s) for the age level of play you are coaching. Cost is $10 per module and only needs to be completed once per age level. Must be completed PRIOR to participating in any team activities and cannot be added to a roster until completed) The lowest age level is 8U. Click here to register for the modules.
6. CEP/CLINIC
   Coaching Education Program Certification Clinic Requirements (Must be completed by Dec. 31 for this season) Find, register and attend the required certification clinic. The Cost is $55. You can only attend one clinic per season and all coaches start at Level 1.
