Week of care - October 19th to October 23rd

We have named this next week following tryouts, Care Week.  We are utilizing this week to finalize Coaching, assign Team Managers, schedule team pictures and nail down some other loose ends before the season begins.  Below are a few reminders for families to go through so players can start the season excited and ready to go.

FIrst, thanks for attending the level meetings prior to tryouts and following procedures during tryouts themselves.  Everything went really well and we are going to need every family to work together this season to keep it up and running for the kids.

Please remember the 24 hour rule prior to reaching out about team placements.  I am confident in how the tryout process is achieved and in my evaluators.  If you feel the need to reach out, please be ready for an honest, direct conversation about your player.  Rosters are not due until December.  If I truly feel a player needs to switch teams, it will happen before then.

Team Manager Meeting:

If you expressed interest in volunteering for team manager during the registration process, we will be reaching out once we have made our selections.  There is a mandatory TM meeting that will be on October 25th at 7:00 pm.  This will be in the upstairs room in Vets 1.

Team Meetings:

These will be happening the week of October 26th through the 30th.  Coaches will be scheduling these for your individual teams.  They will reach out via Sports Engine to notify families of day and time.

Game Socks:

This season we will have blue and white socks to wear with our travel jerseys.  Please make sure to pick yours up at Play it Again Sports before the first game.

Practice/Game Jerseys:

Coaches will be given the practice jerseys and will distribute them to the team.  Game jerseys will be handed out via Coach or Team Manager prior to the first game.

Team Photos:

Team photos will be happening the week of November 9th through the 12th.  A finalized schedule will be communicated once Best of Times has completed it.  There will be paper forms on the night of photos, however, BOT would prefer to have it all done online. When BOT releases the ordering link we will communicate that out as well.  Families will be receiving raffle tickets for the fundraising requirements the same night as photos.

Sports Engine:

Now that your player is rostered you can go onto the Sports Engine app and view their practice/game schedule.  All team communication will be happening via SE so please make sure you are logged in and connected to your players team.  We have set up a Sports Engine help page on the website.  https://www.westfargohockey.com/howtocalendar

Practices will be starting the week of October 26th.  Please remember no parents at practice and players must only arrive 15 minutes prior to start time and must be wearing a mask.  We know many families have multiple kids in multiple activities.  This policy gets tricky for you.  Utilizing a car pool may be necessary as we cannot have extra kids roaming the rink.  Take time  to familiarize yourself and your family with our https://www.westfargohockey.com/covid.  There were many hours put into this policy and if we can all follow it, hopefully we will have as good of a season as possible during these times.

Thanks and GO STAMPEDE!
