FREE MENTAL HEALTH CARE

Have you taken a moment to click on the North Dakota Behavior Health to see all of the free options available for you and/or your player who might be struggling?  Someone is available via text, call, email, or in-person.  Be sure you educate yourself about the options available because sometimes having a safe place to reach out is the first step in getting help.

Bell Let's Talk - Mental Health & Hockey

When looking at mental health through the eyes of an athlete who is trying to juggle hockey, academics, home life, etc. it has become a top priority. Depending on the age group, the number of individuals affected by a mental illness or disorder are increasing---from childhood, to youth, to adults and we want to be sure this is top of mind as our players and families continue through the program.

WFHA is spreading awareness about mental health with Mental Health Month and by participating in Bell Let’s Talk Day.  This annual initiative allows people to get the conversation started on mental health with a challenge to continue the talk once the day is over.  On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, Bell Canada will donate $10 million dollars to support mental health, previously donating $0.05 per social media tweet using #BellLetsTalk or #BellCause.

We would like to see your social media posts on Wednesday with #BellLetsTalk, #Stampede Stories, and/or #MentalHealth in support of this great campaign. Official Website: https://letstalk.bell.ca/

Raffle Ticket Turn-In

The Winter Raffle will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 so all tickets must be turned in before then to be a part of the raffle.  We will be hosting 3 nights in which you are able to turn in your winter raffle tickets (red books) both in the Vets 2 entry and Vets 1 lobby:

  • Tuesday, January 24     4:30-7:30 pm
  • Thursday, January 26     4:30-7:30 pm
  • Tuesday, January 31     4:30-7:30 pm

We prefer one check written to WFHA but understand if you already have payment in other forms.  Please be sure you bring all books completed as any tickets you do not sell, you are required to purchase yourself.  Families who took additional books to participate in the contest are not required to buyout their extra books but must bring the books and payment for the sold tickets.

GUN RAFFLE: Individuals who are participating in the gun raffle can also turn in books these nights as well but will have more opportunities in the future as that drawing is not until April 2023.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact the Gaming Director, Jason Campbell, at jcampbell@westfargohockey.com or 701-707-2120.

Pink Out for Ann

Ann Leshovsky, a dearly beloved friend to many of us in the West Fargo Hockey, Public Schools, and extended community was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Ann has been a pillar in the West Fargo community throughout various sporting activities and in the school communities, and she is always on the front lines to help others! January 24 is the Packer vs Mustang Varsity game at 7:30 p.m. at the West Fargo Sports Arena. We encourage all players to come and “pink out” the rink for Ann and also support your Packer and Mustang teams!!
