BOARD MEMBER NOMINATIONS/ELECTIONS & ANNUAL MEETING

WFHA Members -

The 2020-2021 season is wrapping up and you know what that means...?!  Time to start getting ready to do it all over again next year!!

The 2021-2022 will no doubt be another season of growth.  Are you interested in playing a bigger role?  We are looking for five people to join the board, grow the game and make hockey fun for everyone involved.

New, that started this 2020-2021 season, board members do not have to sell winter raffle tickets while serving and active role within the board.  Also, upon the successful completion of a board term, board members will receive dibs for life.

Board of Directors Application

THE PROCESS:

  1. Complete and return via email the attached application to the Secretary at secretary@westfargohockey.com
  2. Applications must be received prior to midnight on April 1st.
  3. On March 22nd there is a voluntary, informational meeting that potential applicants can attend.  Applicants will be able to ask current board members questions about the role they applied for, duties, etc..  This will be held at the West Fargo Hockey Office located at 1150 Prairie Pkwy Suite 100 in WF.  The meeting will begin at 6:00pm.
  4. The WFHA Annual Meeting will be on April 12th beginning at 6:00 pm at Veterans Memorial Arena, rink 1.  At this time the new members will be voted on/elected by eligible WFHA members.  Terms will begin April 19th, 2021.

EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT:

The Executive Vice President shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board may prescribe from time to time. In the absence of the President or in the event of the President’s death, inability, or refusal to act, the Executive Vice President shall perform the duties of the President and, when so acting, shall have all the powers and be subject to all of the restrictions upon the President. This position is a member of the Executive Committee, made up of the Past-President, President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Hockey Operations and Director of Business Operations.

Term: 1 Year Term.  Executive Vice President moves into the President position after one term, and then to the Past-President position after that term.  Total term is 3 years, ending after the 2024 season.  

DIRECTOR OF TOURNAMENTS:

The Director of Tournaments shall be responsible for organizing and coordinating any and all tournaments on behalf of the association. Primary Duties include working proactively with other associations in order to provide adequate opportunities for the association to host and participate in tournaments at all ages and skill levels. Working with Director counterparts be the primary contact on behalf of the association to arrange and direct the tournament schedule. The director shall also chair and direct the Tournament Committee

Term:  Three years, ending after the 2024 season.

VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS:

The Vice President of Business Operations shall oversee the day-to-day operations of the Association to ensure resources are utilized effectively, efficiently and equitably. Primary areas of oversight include Fund Raising, Gaming, Sponsorship, Facilities, Marketing and Communications.. The Vice President of Business Operations shall work closely with the Treasurer of the Association on all financial matters, including the presentation of an annual budget of the Association to the Board. The Vice President of Business Operations shall perform such other duties assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Term: Three years, ending after the 2024 season.

DIRECTOR OF FUNDRAISING AND GAMING:

The Director of Fund Raising and Gaming is responsible for organizing and directing all of the fundraising activities as directed by the board. This Director works closely with staff and the Vice President of Business Operations to create and implement the approved financial resource plan that will guide the staff and board’s activities in seeking out and securing funding from diverse sources. This Director also is responsible for putting forward an annual plan that outlines the revenue sources and estimates for the upcoming year. The Director also is responsible for working with the Treasurer and other financial officials in the association in order to create transparent and clear reporting of fund raising and gaming activities. The Director is also the chair of the Fund Raising and Gaming Committee.

Term:  Three years, ending after the 2024 season.
