Board Member Nominations/Elections & Annual Meeting

it's that time again

WFHA Members -
 
The 2019-2020 season is wrapping up and you know what that means...?!  Time to start getting ready to do it all over again next year!!
 
The 2020-2021 will no doubt be another season of growth.  Are you interested in playing a bigger role?  We are looking for five people to join the board, grow the game and make hockey fun for everyone involved.
 
New starting in the 2020-2021 season, board members do not have to sell winter raffle tickets while serving and active role within the board.  Also, upon the successful completion of a board term, board members will receive dibs for life.

The process

  1. Complete and return via email the attached application to the Secretary at secretary@stampedehockey.club

  2. Applications must be received prior to midnight on June 5th.

  3. On May 27th at 5:30 pm there is a voluntary, informational meeting that potential applicants can attend.  Applicants will be able to ask current board members questions about the role they applied for, duties, etc..  This will be held via webinar at https://www.anymeeting.com/053-371-423 or dial-in number  1-877-817-8383 PIN 053-371-423#

  4. That same week all candidates bio's will be circulated through the Association and posted on the website so members can "Meet the Candidates".

  5. The WFHA Annual Meeting will be on June 8th beginning at 6:30 pm @ Vets 1.  At this time the new members will be voted on/elected by eligible WFHA members.  Terms will begin June 15, 2020.

The candidates

ROLES available

Executive Vice President

Term: 1 Year Term.  Executive Vice President moves into the President position after one term, and then to the Past-President position after that term.  Total term is 3 years, ending after the 2023 season.

The Executive Vice President shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board may prescribe from time to time. In the absence of the President or in the event of the President’s death, inability, or refusal to act, the Executive Vice President shall perform the duties of the President and, when so acting, shall have all the powers and be subject to all of the restrictions upon the President. This position is a member of the Executive Committee, made up of the Past-President, President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Hockey Operations and Director of Business Operations.

Secretary
Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2023 season)

The Secretary shall record proceedings of all meetings of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee; shall keep a register of the names and addresses of all members of the Association; shall at all times keep on file a complete copy of the Articles of Corporation and all amendments and restatements thereof and a complete copy of these Bylaws and all amendments and restatements hereof; shall, when directed to do so, give proper notice of meetings of the members, the Board of Directors or the Executive Committee; shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be prescribed by the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee or the President; and, in general, shall perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary.

Vice President of Hockey Operations

Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2023 season)

The Vice President of Hockey Operations shall oversee all off-ice aspects of hockey programs of the Association to maximize player participation. Primary areas of oversight include the program offering, Membership, Recruitment, Apparel, Equipment, and Tournaments. The Vice President of Hockey Operations shall work closely with the Hockey Director, Scheduler, Recruiting Director, Equipment and Apparel Director, Compliance and Safesport Director, and Treasurer to ensure equity of all players. The Vice President of Hockey Operations shall perform such other duties assigned by the President or the Board of Directors.

Director of Compliance & Safesport

Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2023 season)

The Director of Safe Sport and Compliance shall provide the oversight and direction to ensure that the youth within the association have a safe and enjoyable experience with participating in hockey. Ensure that compliance policies are up to date and are in alignment with those of the USA Hockey and the NDAHA. Working with the Vice President of Marketing and Communications ensure that they are clearly communicated to all members of the association. Quickly and judiciously address any and all behavioral issues by players, parents or fans that may be brought before the board. The director shall also chair and direct the Compliance committee.

Director of Marketing & Communications

Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2023 season)

The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for organizing and directing all of the marketing and promotional activities as directed by the board. Develop, create, and implement an effective marketing and promotional campaign that promotes and encourages participation of youth hockey in the association. Create a regular and clear communication plan through various channels that proactively, transparently, and effectively reaches all members of the association. The director shall also chair and direct the Marketing and Communications committee. A Marketing/Communication committee works closely with staff and other board committees to develop and implement a marketing/communications plan that articulates to the primary audiences for the association, how best to reach them, and what they most care about. The committee monitors the presentation of the association’s brand, and ensures that the products, services, and programs of the association remain relevant to the audience.
