Board Member Nominations/Elections & Annual Meeting

it's that time again

WFHA Members -
 
The 2018-2019 season is wrapping up and you know what that means...?!  Time to start getting ready to do it all over again next year!!
 
The 2019-2020 will no doubt be another season of growth.  Are you interested in playing a bigger role?  We are looking for four people to join the board, grow the game and make hockey fun for everyone involved.

The process

  1. Complete and return via email the attached (3) documents to the WFHA at marketing&communications@stampedehockey.club.  Head shots are not required but hey...who doesn't want to see a smiling face!! ;)
  2. Documents must be received prior to midnight on March 18th.
  3. The Applicant Profile, Commitment Pledge and Conflict of Interest Statement can also be found here:   https://www.westfargohockey.com/cspoliciesandprocedures
  4. On March 18th all applicants will be notified of a meeting they can attend to ask current board members questions about the role they applied for, duties, etc..
  5. That same week all candidates bio's will be circulated through the association and posted on the website so everyone can "Meet the Candidates".
  6. The WFHA Annual Meeting will be on April 1st (no foolin') where the new members will be voted on/elected by eligible WFHA members.  (More annual meeting details will be coming soon).

ROLES available

Executive Vice President

Term: 1 Year Term.  Executive Vice President moves into the President position after one term, and then to the Past-President position after that term.  Total term is 3 years, ending after the 2022 season.

The Executive Vice President shall have such powers and perform such duties as the Board may prescribe from time to time. In the absence of the President or in the event of the President’s death, inability, or refusal to act, the Executive Vice President shall perform the duties of the President and, when so acting, shall have all the powers and be subject to all of the restrictions upon the President. This position is a member of the Executive Committee, made up of the Past-President, President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Hockey Operations and Director of Business Operations.

Treasurer
Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2022 season)

The Treasurer shall be the primary financial officer of the Association; shall ensure accurate financial records for the Association are kept; shall ensure that all moneys, drafts, and checks in the name of and to the credit of the Association are deposited in such banks and depositories as the Board shall designate from time to time; shall ensure that all notes, checks, and drafts received by the Association as ordered by the Board are endorsed for deposit, making proper vouchers therefore; shall oversee the disbursement of corporate funds and checks and drafts in the name of the Association as ordered by the Board; shall render to the President and the Board an annual budget of the Association; shall render to the President and the Board, whenever requested, an account of all such officer's transactions as Treasurer and of the financial condition of the Association; and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the Board from time to time. The Board may delegate the responsibilities of the Treasurer to one or more employees of the Association, provided, however, that such individual(s) shall be subject to the oversight and control of the Treasurer. The Treasurer shall at all times retain the ultimate responsibility for the financial affairs of the Association.

This position is a member of the Executive Committee, made up of the Past-President, President, Executive Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Hockey Operations and Director of Business Operations.

Director of Membership & Recruitment

Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2022 season)

The Director of Membership & Recruitment is primarily responsible for all tasks surrounding the membership, to include but not limited to Team Managers, Grow the Game, team pictures, photo pucks and community outreach.  This position is a member of the Hockey Operations Committee.

Director of Facilities & Equipment

Term:  3 Year Term (ends after the 2022 season)

The Director of Facilities & Equipment is responsible for all functions surrounding facilities used by WFHA (Hockey Office, Veterans Memorial Arena, West Fargo Sports Arena) as well as equipment owned by WFHA (pucks, nets, jerseys, dividers, etc.)  This position is a member of the Business Operations Committee.
